Olive Garden gives green for golf event

Olive Garden has donated $700 towards the second annual Marine Corps League Toys for Tots Golf outing Sunday, Aug. 26 at the Mays Landing Golf and Country Club.

The gift is the largest cash donation made for the event. The largest merchandise donation was an $800 dinner certificate from Bonefish Grill in Egg Harbor Township.

Sign-in is noon, with tee-off at 1 p.m. for the Gunny “Chuck” Baldwin Memorial Golf Outing. Entry fee is $100 per golfer and includes cart and green fees.

Golfers will enjoy hot dogs, beer and soda before play begins and a barbecue, beer and soda afterward. There will be prizes for closest to the pin, longest drive and straightest drive, along with a putting contest.

The prize for the first hole-in-one on a selected par-3 hole is a new 2013 Chevy Cruze, courtesy of Bennett Chevrolet in Egg Harbor Township.
