City accepting applications for local Housing Authority board

OCEAN CITY – The city of Ocean City is advertising for a volunteer to fill an unexpired, vacant seat on the local Housing Authority board.

The unexpired five-year term ends Dec. 31, 2013. The Ocean City Housing Authority is an independent body responsible for the ownership and management of public housing in Ocean City in accordance with state and federal guidelines. The board of commissioners is responsible for the oversight of finances and policies.

Housing Authority commissioners must complete five courses within 18 months of appointment. Courses are paid for by the Housing Authority.

The Housing Authority meets six times per year.
