OCEAN CITY — A crowd of yogis gathered Dec. 22 at the Music Pier in celebration of the winter solstice. Participants were asked to bring a donation to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. Steve Mullen of Yoga Dog, who helped to organize the event, said thanks to Ocean City Home Bank, all of the almost $1,600 in donations collected Thursday evening will go to the food bank. Yoga instructors for the evening included Haddonfield resident Nicole Cucinotta of Firefly Arts and Yoga, Margate resident Melissa Goldstein of New Jersey Yoga Zone, Ocean City resident Michelle Whelan, who teaches yoga at the Ocean City Community Center, Yoga Zone and Exodus Integrated Wellness; and Somers Point resident Giselle Toner of Eternity Yoga. Gina Roche of Atlantic City and Pamela Whitman of Beesleys Point provided the music for the event. Following the hour-long practice, participants were invited to join in a drum circle led by Mullen.
