The Nature Center of Cape May offers Crabbing 101 every Tuesday through Aug. 28.

Blue claw crabs are abundant in the saltwater bays and creeks of Cape May County. Learn about the nature of these creatures and get techniques for catching them from seasoned experts aboard the Skimmer, a comfortable 40-foot, flat-bottomed tour boat.

Participants will get a hands-on crabbing experience and demonstration, and can keep any legal-size crabs they catch.

The cost is $28 for adults and $17 for children. All equipment and materials are supplied.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Tours depart from Dolphin Cove Marina, across from the Two Mile Beach Unit of the Cape May National Wildlife Refuge, on Ocean Drive between Cape May and Wildwood Crest.

Departure times vary due to the tides; call for tour times.

To preregister call the Skimmer at 609-884-3100.
