Remembering the fallen

Numerous people gathered in Avalon Tuesday morning to remember the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and to dedicate a new memorial at 21st Street, which includes an I-beam recovered from the World Trade Center in New York City. Several events were planned throughout the county to memorialize the worst terrorist attack in American history. In Avalon, the program focused on American unity.
