Matt and Jack McCarroll with their mother, Clare, in front of the

volunteer, completed the Buenos Aires Marathon with a time of three
hours and 13 minutes.

The McGarvey family of Ocean City just returned from Brazil. They
traveled with the Ursinus College Men's Basketball Team (Mike
McGarvey, assistant coach and Kevin McGarvey, team member). The team
began their Brazil visit in Sao Paulo and ended in Rio de Janeiro at
the Christ the Redeemer Statue. In between, they visited various
cities in the mountains and along the coast of Brazil (Guaraja, Sao
Bento do Sapucai, Paraty, and Ilha Grande) where the team played
three Brazilian professional teams, one against Leandro Barboso, of
the NBA Phoenix Suns. The highlight of the trip was a basketball
clinic the team gave to the local youth of Sao Bento do Sapucai who
typically play soccer, but were enthusiastic learners of basketball.
Shirley Troast and Tom McKenna from Four Seasons at Smithville in
Galloway Township enjoyed a three-week trip in South America Jan.
3-23. Starting at Buenos Aires, they rounded the cape and went to
Valparaiso, Chile. Highlights were the rainbow seen at Cape Horn and
riding the train at the end of the world, in the world's
southernmost national park. This was a Celebrity cruise on the ship

Steve and Olivia Simone of Egg Harbor Township took The Current
along on their trip to visit relatives over Easter break in Uruguay.

Peggy Pafort of Sea Isle City took the Gazette on a visit to see
family Scott and Roxanne Crozier in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

the Falkland Islands on Feb. 24 during their trip on Holland-America

Township visited the Uros, unique floating Islands on Lake Titicaca
in Peru made entirely of reed. Situated in a shallow part of the
lake about a 20-minute boat from the shore, this settlement was
originally established by the Uros Indians to flee the Incas; now
there are more than 40 of these small islands. These photos were
taken on one of the more visited islands where there are public
restrooms, a mini-market, and other amenities for tourists. In the
