The Bridge of Flowers

Sandra Swagler, of Dennisville, and Harriett Reardon Bailey, of Ocean View, are shown at the Bridge of Flowers, in Shelburne Falls, Vermont. The original 1908 trolley bridge, which is on the Mohawk Trail, was turned into a garden after it was abandoned in 1928 with over 500 annuals and perennials growing there. They took the Gazette with them on their 11-day trip to New England.

Fun at the farm

Kirsten, 14, left, and Shelby Wessner, 9, of Egg Harbor Township took their favorite editions of The Current with them to Vermont, where they visited Peckham’s Farm in Pownal, located near the border of New York and Massachusetts. The 100-acre farm just off Route 7 – a former dairy operation and now a garden market – has been in the same family for about 200 years. The girls are the daughters of Jody and Bob Wessner.
