New law firm opens in Linwood
LINWOOD – Philip J. Perskie, Steven J. Brog, Christopher M.
Baylinson, Richard S. Mairone and Alex Barrera have opened Perskie
Mairone Brog & Baylinson, a full-service law firm, in Suite 204 at
Cornerstone Commerce Center on New Road Dec. 1.
The partners have more than 85 combined years of legal experience in
a variety of areas, including real estate, business matters,
commercial litigation, estate planning, federal and state tax
matters, banking law, construction law, liquor licenses, municipal
law and serious personal injury cases.
“Our approach is creative and preventive. We strive to anticipate
issues and to resolve our clients’ legal problems in a prompt,
efficient and cost-effective manner,” Perskie said. “Phone calls are
handled personally. There is no automated operator or voicemail. All
clients receive the personal attention they deserve.”
Perskie, of Margate, concentrates in sophisticated transactions,
corporate work, real estate matters and estate and business
planning. He was a founder and director of Boardwalk Bank and is
chairman of the board of Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation.
Brog, of Margate, concentrates in commercial litigation, business
and real estate transactions and other commercial and corporate
matters. He has represented numerous national and local businesses
in both state and federal court. Brog has been on the board of the
Jewish Community Center in Margate since 1996 and served as
president from 2002-2004. He has also been the president of the
Alcove Center for Grieving Children and Families since 2001, and a
member of the board of trustees of the Salvation Army of Atlantic
City since 1998.
Baylinson concentrates in planning and zoning, land use law, real
estate and related civil litigation. He served as law clerk to Peter
W. Thomas and was previously named outstanding young lawyer of the
year by the Atlantic County Bar Association. Baylinson is a past
president of the Atlantic County Bar Association, serves on the
board of trustees of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and
serves as the association’s judicial and prosecutorial appointments
committee. He is a certified civil trial attorney and is on the
board of directors of the Atlantic City Art Center.
Mairone, of Linwood, concentrates in commercial transactions,
corporate, tax and real estate/land-use matters. He is a member of
the Atlantic City Mainland Chamber of Commerce board of directors,
the Sun National Bank advisory board, and the UNICO Scholarship
Foundation. He received the Benjamin A. Rimm award as Atlantic
County's young lawyer of the year in 2004.
Barrera concentrates in real estate and commercial transactions,
estate planning, estate administration and related litigation. While
in law school, he served as a board member and editor of the Rutgers
Law Journal. Barrera is enrolled in Temple University Beasley School
of Law to obtain a master of laws degree in taxation. A member of
the New Jersey State Bar Association, he is also a trustee of the
Atlantic County Bar Association and chairman of its New Lawyers
Division.
