Staff in Shore Memorial Hospital’s surgical services department recently donated $300 to the Ronald McDonald House Family Room in Shore Memorial’s pediatric care center. Surgical services staff made the donation in memory of their colleague’s mother who passed away from cancer. Sarah Mathis, a staff member of Holly Shores Campground, embraced the holiday spirit of giving this holiday season by raising money for the cancer care program of Cape Regional Medical Center. Mathis approached all her co-workers and asked for donations for the medical center. On Dec. 19, Beachcomber Camping Resort and the Brodesser family presented a check for $21,100 to Joanne Carrocino, FACHE, president and CEO of Cape Regional Medical Center. The occasion marked the 14th year Beachcomber has held major fundraising events to benefit Cape Regional Medical Center. Helen Rague is Cape Regional Medical Center’s Special Touch Volunteer of the Month for January. Helen has been a volunteer since November 1984 and has accumulated over 3,100 hours as initially a Bistro 10 (previously known as the Cheeri Corner) volunteer, and most recently, as an East Lobby messenger volunteer. Helen lives in Wildwood with her husband of 60 years, Bob. In addition to her East Lobby messenger assignment, Helen is often called upon to assist with special projects; her reliability and dedication to a job well done has been acclaimed by both volunteers and staff. Debbie Colubiale, broker-associate with Apex Realty Inc. in Lower Township, has been awarded the accredited buyer representative (ABR) designation by the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council Inc. of the National Association of Realtors. Debbie has been active in the real estate industry since 2001. She serves as a committee member of the Cape May County Association of Realtors Education Committee… AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center (ARMC) welcomed its 2008 medical staff officers and recognized outgoing medical staff president Marilouise Venditti, MD, of Medford, during a recent physician appreciation celebration. Ilyas Rajput, MD, of Ventnor, ARMC medical staff president, is a cardiologist in practice with, and president of Med-Com Health Services, Pleasantville. Gamble, a nurse practitioner in the hospital’s employee health department, started her career at Shore Memorial in 1988 in the housekeeping department. In 1990, she transferred to the maternity care center as an obstetrical technician in labor and delivery. In 1992, Gamble received her RN certification from Atlantic Cape Community College, and worked on the medical surgical unit until for several years until she transferred to the intensive care unit in 1996. Gamble received her adult nurse practitioner certification in 2004 from Stockton College and transferred to her current position in employee health services in 2007. Originally from Haddon Township, Gamble now lives in Seaville… Deborah Gore has been awarded certification as a certified nutrition support dietitian by the National Board of Nutrition Support Certification (NBNSC). In October, Gore successfully completed a comprehensive written examination on nutrition support. Deb has been an employee of Cape Regional Medical Center since 2001 when she joined the staff as a registered dietitian… Dienito Saclayan, RN, is Cape Regional Medical Center’s service excellence of the month recipient for December. He has been a part of the Medical Center family since 1998 and works on the PCU nursing unit… Julie Paolella, director of volunteer services at Cape Regional Medical Center was installed as president-elect of the New Jersey Association of Directors of Volunteer Services (NJADVS) on Jan. 18. Paolella has been a member of NJADVS since 2000 and has held an executive board position as vice president until receiving this new appointment… Robert T. Lee, M.D., who was granted privileges in diagnostic imaging, received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York in 1998. James R. Mesham, M.D. has joined with privileges in diagnostic imaging. A unique way that Ocean City Home Bank employees help their community is through a Dress Downs Day program. Each Friday throughout the year Ocean City Home Bank employees are given the opportunity to dress in casual clothes in exchange for a monetary donation to a charity of the week chosen by employees. During 2007, Ocean City Home Bank’s Dress Down Day program raised over $4,800 for charities. Some of the local charities assisted in 2007 included: Beacon Animal Rescue, RNS, Sister Jean Webster’s Kitchen and the ARC of Atlantic County. Additionally, the Bank also contributed funds to national organizations in conjunction with local fundraising efforts… Shore Memorial Hospital’s Department of Laboratory Medicine recently received accreditation by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP).
