Jablonski Twins perform in Vegas for American Idol’s Next Great Band

Joseph Garrett, Michael Boriss, DO, and Hank Komansky, DO.

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE - The Jablonski Twins, aka Drs. Michael Boriss and Henry Komansky, of Cape Regional Medical Center, and Joseph Garrett, was one of 60 bands chosen to participate in live auditions in August at the Montelago Resort in Lake Las Vegas in their effort to become “The Next Great American Band.” The producers of the show received audition tapes from more than 6,000 bands.
The weekly show kicked off on Oct. 19 with a two-hour episode. The Jablonski Twins had a brief appearance on the show but unfortunately did not qualify to move to the next level. Like “American Idol” the show challenged bands to perform as it searched for the top unsigned band in the country.
The Jablonski Twins are no strangers to Cape May County. The trio has been performing for the past five years after their inaugural revue in 2003 at the Cape Regional Medical Center annual talent show “More Than Scrubs.” Since that time Boriss, Komansky and Garrett have performed at various nursing homes and charities in the community.
“We love getting together and entertaining people with our music.” stated Michael Boriss, cardiologist at Cape Regional Medical Center.
“The opportunity to audition in Vegas was a once in a life time experience and a bonus for the group,” added Komansky, a pulmonologist at Cape Regional Medical Center.
Boriss and Komansky both play the accordion and Joseph Garrett plays the drums. All three performers sing. They recently completed their fourth annual Christmas Tour of local nursing homes.
